one

one cabin celebratory experience led to me giving
one invitation acceptance, however
one massive blizzard led to me emailing
one very likely delay until the morning.
one break in the weather and
one walk home from urban north conway led to
one seize the day and throw caution to the wind attitude actualized.
one point five gps hours meant almost three hours in the revamped blizzard
one right hand turn off a major road because a gps told me to led to
one near death experience
one unplowed road on a black diamond downward angle plus
one fwd car without snow tires meant
one freefall, brakes laughing
one car came up the hill.  i made
one movement further right to avoid that car
one glance told me: no more cars and a long way down still
one attempt at correcting my increasing speed led to
one or two 360 turns across and back across the snowbank lined road
one whitewashed car
one virtually blind driver
one or two moments knowing i may have just lost my only monetary investment
one overarching feeling of okayness, before, and especially now, plus
zero oncoming cars and
one recovery
one look further down the soon dead ending road
one quick decision to drive into a snowbank
one rather unhurt car, all things considered
one grateful and exhilarated being met
one cool plow driver with
one shovel for me to use, and
one chain to pull me out 10 feet, and
one other plow driver clearing the road, and
one car now snail crawled down, on the e-brake the whole time.
one abs light glaring for the next 10 minutes was a fair trade for
one more of my finite come infinite lives ;)
one more hop skip and jump (my car may have gained superpowers in the crash) and i arrived to
one excellent collection of people, pulled together by
one amazing gal for
one amazing celebration of
one love and
one amazing life we share, in many ways, as
one

  1. Nice poem. But please quit driving your citymobile on snowy mountain roads. Next time worse might happen: you might get deliveranced.
