nice title, not totally truthful. partially true.
he did build his own cabin. props. that takes serious effort.
outside of that?
his off to nature time was approximately 1 mile outside of town, where'd he'd frequently walk to.
i find his writing to be pretty dull, overall. it's pretty blah
he does make for some quality quotes. why? see the next line
his philosophies were well formed; he was a quality idea man.
it seems much of his life was theoretical. ex - 1 day in jail as his civil disobedience
my nature time was approximately 70 miles from the nearest town with services. 30 miles from a town w/out services. 10 miles of that not passable during the winter months by car or truck.
i think my writing is better. i'm biased. i get that
quotes? written down? give me some time. they're coming.
i have the benefit now of having taken in his ideas, the ideas that helped formulate his ideas, and numerous other ideas he may not have been privy to, due to less and slower worldwide information dispersement in the the 1800's. plus, i have had 150 years of more information since his time. what have i learned? in short -
be well
i've been around a few blocks and amongst a few different types of blocks.
still...perspective is necessary. though i feel confident i have surpassed someone like thoreau, i have a ways to go if i am to surpass walt whitman. or m ghandi.
it could happen. might, even
peace
