christmas via skype with my family.
christmas in person with the family-family business i work with; gifts are not a part of navidad out here. for almost everybody i encountered. family, friends, feasts, and fiestas are. thus, amongst near strangers, in a newish environment, with the primary language spoken being 1 i don't understand much of, i was more at peace on christmas than i have been in quite some time. it helped that i was served: turkey, chicken, pig, and beef, along with mashed potatoes, other sides, and then 2 different desserts. oh, and not 1 person was drinking, unless they were doing the flask thing.
work n more work. lots of heavy lifting with kayak preparations and clean up, take down.
lots of peace n serenity with the actual paddling.
lots of tooth pain. getting worse. soft foods may be more necessary now than they were 2 monday's past, when i had a tooth extracted. now, any slight touch to a tooth on the opposite side of my mouth causes some shooting pain everywhere. and i feel pain there in other ways, too. the 2 town dentists are on vacation for awhile.
my computer officially broke. i saved the files i deemed important to a flash drive. kept my book, gone is the porn. saved some music, gone are all movies except for a few non-uploaded nature flicks i shot. and so on...
i saw a one-man theatre performance of romeo n juliet. in spanish. performed by an italian. he was operatic. juliet was a fork with a gold napkin. romeo a knife with a red napkin. mercutio was a pizza cutter. i think the priest was the 2nd largest wooden spoon. i got sleepy. the man, however, was entertaining. and because i did not walk out, i was treated to free chilean wine afterwards. muy bueno.
i like being wired in to my friends and family. cause y'all are dear to me. that said, next week just may find me less an online presence, as i put more time into my writings in paper form. and maybe also find a new dentist across the golf, on some day i am not working.
only 1 beach yoga session this week. said differently, i had 1 fantastic beach yoga session this week.
