a lazy post

i don't really want to write this right now.  but if not now, when?  so, now.

i had visitors recently.  we were decently adventurous.  we went kayaking in a mangrove river and in the golfo dulce.  we went zip lining through some rainforest canopy.  we went swimming in the gulf here, in the bay here, in the ocean in matapalo, and i went swimming in carate while the ladies wet their feet.

we ate much local produce.  made our own food every meal except one.  white pinapples, something north america denies itself, rocked our worlds.  fanny lu taught us how to make empanadas.  deliciousness.

i got into an argument with a ranger at the corcovado entrance.  passionate anger ran forth from me.  it's nice not to be on medications that might stiffle outbursts like this.  here's a brief example of what i dealt with -

ranger won't allow me to enter park unless i empty a few things from my bag.  soon after, i had to leave my entire bag.  then i had to bring my bag back from where it was stored so the ranger could inventory every item. i refused this request.  ranger then tells my friend, whom translates, that these are the rules for everybody, despite me clearly being the only person he is discriminating and harassing and applying some of these rules too.    rules, which, mind you, were only rules because he said they were.  because he wore a hat saying policia and carried handcuffs on his belt buckle.  grrrr.  thus, he had to deal with my anger.  my fury.  and after i had voluntarily decided not to enter the park, i was banned from entering.  ha!

we camped on the beach.  i slept in my bug net enforced hammock for the first times.

the stars were amazing.  especially in cabo matapalo.

there were waterfalls and splashing and swimming in the pools of the waterfalls.

there were uncomfortable bus rides and bus rides that encouraged napping.

we slept nicely.  soundly at times.  awaking at times.  whether on the beach or in the hostel.

there was pant loads of sunshine.

we soaked it in.  all of it.  and not just the sun.

mostly, these few days were much like the time i spend here myself.  now, i just shared it with others.  sharing is nice.  seeing friends is nice.  being in beauty is nice.  being with beautiful people is nice.  and the combinations of these factors may make the niceness grow.
